Jupiter Theatre 1992 – 1997 Annually managed & designed 10 musicals with $100,000 annual costume budgets. Management of shop included interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling of assistants, interns, seamstresses, wig designers, and wardrobe crew. Ordering and upkeep of machines and supplies. Designer duties included budgets, costume plots, collaboration with directors and choreographers, sketches, construction, purchasing, and coordination of rentals, fittings, and alterations. As well as millinery, specialty masks and jewelry, and props. Classes taught included Introduction to Theatre Crafts, Advanced Theatre Crafts, Figure Drawing, Makeup, History of Fashion, Introduction to Design, Design Studios, Costume Labs, and Wardrobe Crews. Interviewing, hiring, and management of shop foreman and student employees. Developed and administered costume rental program. During my 15+ year career (and still freelance) as a Costume Designer I've designed for Jupiter Theatre, VISA, Valley Forge/Westbury Music Fairs, National Tours for VISA and Tim Conway. Lectured and designed for Univ. of Miami. As well as wardrobe for Disney, Miami and Sarasota Operas, and the National Tour of “42nd Street”. Most recent accomplishments are in Wigs and Special Effects Makeup.
A first time mom at 41, with a son I adore. He entertains, challenges, and strengthens me. Being a mom is the hardest yet most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life!
